Eckley is a company mining town built in the anthracite coal region of Pennsylvania in the 1900's.  The village was built near the colliery where the coal was mined and processed and provided housing for the miners and their families.  In 1870 the village residents numbered 1,000.  Today, there are only a handful of residents.  The town is an historical site worth visiting.
